Wow, moving to wordpress did make this page rather static :) guess you can only have one webpage at any one time! It's nearing my rotation period, currently hunting for a job in the public sector of the government (intro me if you can!). Landlord sold the house so I'll also be moving (tell me if you know of a 5 room flat for 4 person to stay!)

It's Chinese New Year again. Wow, time flies. All the best wishes to you in year 2007. I've launched a separate site (too sentimental about this one) that incorporates Wordpress as the blogging engine. I syndicate it here too as a summary, but more and more of the fresher content will come from there. So do visit: http://wp.jiinjoo.com

TaDa - I've moved xanga into my homepage, hopefully this gives more people to come visit here. Planning to expand more blogs and more content. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

And then 12 months in Singapore! Time flies when you're not doing something interesting... Better buck up! Just came back from Cheng Du - the city that no one wants to leave.

6 months in Singapore! 5.5 years to go! Achievement so far? Nil! Anyone interested in hiknig Mount Kinabalu with me sometime later this year?

Rainy days in Singapore, extreme cold weather around the world. Stay Warm! Forces of Sun Shine Unite to dry my cloths!
2006.01.14 - 10.48 PM
I have finally got a phone (look to your left) - now you can call me till your hearts content. It has been a month since I started working in SCS. Trying very hard to be content with life for now, will see what happens. Happy fasting to the muslims!
2005.10.08 - 02.35 AM
Constantly moving on is really tiring. Looking forward to September where I'll again be in a foreign land (Singapore) because of a promise that was made 5 years ago. I will not forget the lessons I learned in Amazon.com, which is the same lesson I learn everywhere: to love deeply, and to give generously, is the greatest happiness of all.

I was recommended ??? by the search engine, you can try another. The Internet says I: ??????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????curious, independent, stubborn, agile. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? am a trusted, respected, communicator, leader. danger of make [...]

And so the blackout begins
Have been following the debate on SOPA/PIPA. Not sure if we’re at our best collectively as a human race if we leave the Internet as is, but we are certainly worse off if these bills come into play. Thanks Wikipedia. In case it happens, Asia will welcome all the most important Internet resource to relocate [...]

Sibelius Embed (sibembed) updated to support oembed
In a classic reversal, I’ve decided that I shall come up with a CONSUMER for embedding scores in blogs (in my case only wordpress, to proof a concept) before any PROVIDER comes by, with respect to the oEmbed protocol. (Note: for jargons, see oEmbed website for background) A quick survey of embed.ly shows no providers [...]

iPad orchestra: Acoustic versus programmatic performance
What is the difference between an acoustic performance and programmatic performance? Without getting too hung up by the words (I have no better vocabulary here), I’m referring to whether a musical performance is actually performed by human in real time, or parts if not all of the performance has been recorded. In a 100% acoustic [...]

Expiring Shoutmix
After at least 6 years of using ShoutMix on this blog, looks like Snecx is finally putting up his compulsory pay wall to sustain the business. He explains his rational in an open letter. I guess after only 250 legitimate messages and having to manually deal with thousands more spam messages, it’s a great time [...]

Legoland is opening 2012!
This is definitely 1000 times more exciting than Johor Premium Outlets… My rudimentary and summarized understanding by garnering information from www.legoland.com.my is that LEGOLAND Malaysia in JB is going to be mostly theme park, ready 2012, really expensive (i.e. targeted at tourists), very Singapore focused (for revenue), enormous (compared to USS), and needless to say, [...]

Countdown to 2012 with an Orchestra and Champaign
It’s the new year! You obviously don’t want to squeeze in the humid crowd: But you also don’t want to stay at home like a couch potato, lest you feel ostracized. So why not attend a concert in style? Ring in 2012 in style with an evening of classics. Swing and swoon to your favorite [...]

The wedded future beckons
I’m 31, male, and about to get married. Truth be told, although I’m elated that I’ll be wedded with the best wife I could ask for, I still shiver at the thought of the future. Something that’s planned for the “rest of my life” doesn’t come easy to me, who has in the past planned [...]

Angels
When does an angel comes visit you? When you least expect them to. When they come, what do you do? Pray. Found this photo that I took while stopping at a traffic light at Gelang Patah. At that moment, when both my gf and I caught it, I thought, what an angel it is. It [...]

Are you applying for US universities? Here's my take on US schools.
