Wow, moving to wordpress did make this page rather static :) guess you can only have one webpage at any one time! It's nearing my rotation period, currently hunting for a job in the public sector of the government (intro me if you can!). Landlord sold the house so I'll also be moving (tell me if you know of a 5 room flat for 4 person to stay!)

It's Chinese New Year again. Wow, time flies. All the best wishes to you in year 2007. I've launched a separate site (too sentimental about this one) that incorporates Wordpress as the blogging engine. I syndicate it here too as a summary, but more and more of the fresher content will come from there. So do visit: http://wp.jiinjoo.com

I have finally got a phone (look to your left) - now you can call me till your hearts content. It has been a month since I started working in SCS. Trying very hard to be content with life for now, will see what happens. Happy fasting to the muslims!

Constantly moving on is really tiring. Looking forward to September where I'll again be in a foreign land (Singapore) because of a promise that was made 5 years ago. I will not forget the lessons I learned in Amazon.com, which is the same lesson I learn everywhere: to love deeply, and to give generously, is the greatest happiness of all.

4 months to W-Day
May 16, June 16, July 16, August 16, September 16! If there’s one thing that I’ve totally neglected ever since 2012 started, it’s this blog. If it isn’t due to some prodding from the wife, mixed feelings about connecting with distant friends, and an extra yet unnecessary dose of coffee in the evening, I won’t [...]

Non-monetary Awards vs Monetary Consolations
Random thought of the night: what if all non-monetary awards are replaced by monetary consolations? Like, every praise from management is about $10, every little trophy is about $100, every opportunity to go on stage to shake the CEO’s hands is $1000? What will become of an organization? My guess is 99% of you will [...]

Richard Strauss ? An Alpine Symphony
*sob* so beautiful. Eine Alpensinfonie, Op. 64, 1915. Why Teach Music?
Found a nice piece of inspiration today. Thought I’d give it some limelight. Why Teach Music? Music is a science It is exact, specific; and it demands exact acoustics. A conductor’s full score is a chart, a graph which indicates frequencies, intensities, volume changes, melody and harmony all at once and with the most exact [...]

The Great Preparation Begins
As September approaches, the two of us has started getting organized, turning sporadic efforts to put in place the big day into some resemblance of operations. Wearing the hat of a wedding planner now, things are starting to look more tedious than complicated. At first I mistook this tediousness as complexity, and started looking for [...]

Valentines Day Concert
Look, someone recorded and released the whole concert Philwinds playing songs with dedications in Esplanade Concert Hall. Although some had rushed off half way for V-day dinner bookings as we ended late, there were no baby screams or wails, and full of blushes as dedications were read. It has been a romantic week.
